FAQ
Q: How would you describe your photography style?
A: My style blends genuine, unscripted moments with refined editorial portraits and timeless imagery. I document the emotions and atmosphere of your celebration as they naturally unfold while offering gentle direction when needed.
Q: What if we’re not comfortable in front of the camera?
A: Most of my couples feel this way at first, so you are not alone. I’ll guide you through natural movement and simple prompts rather than expecting you to know how to pose. My goal is to help you feel comfortable, confident, and fully present with each other.
Q: Will you photograph candid moments as well as posed portraits?
A: Absolutely. I believe a complete wedding gallery should include both. I document spontaneous emotions and meaningful interactions throughout the day while also creating polished portraits, family photographs, and timeless images you’ll want to display for generations.
Q: How far in advance should we book?
A: Popular dates, especially during spring and fall, can book well in advance. I recommend reaching out as soon as your wedding date and venue are confirmed. However, I’m always happy to check availability for celebrations taking place on a shorter timeline.
Q: How do we reserve our wedding date?
A: To officially reserve your date, a signed agreement and a 20% retainer are required. The retainer is applied toward the total cost of your collection. Your date is confirmed once both have been received.
Q: Can our wedding collection be customized?
A: Yes. Every celebration is different, and custom collections are available when you need additional coverage, multiple locations, or a more tailored experience. After learning about your plans, I’ll help you select the coverage that best supports your day.
Q: Will you help us create our photography timeline?
A: Yes. We’ll meet virtually or in person before your wedding to review the schedule, locations, family portraits, and other important details. I’ll work with you and your planner to create a photography timeline that protects the experience of your day while allowing enough time for the images that matter most.
Q: Do we need to provide a shot list?
A: You don’t need to create a list of every photograph you would like—I’ll document the important moments and details throughout your celebration. I do recommend providing a list of essential family groupings and letting me know about any meaningful traditions, relationships, or details you would especially like preserved.
Q: Do we need a second photographer?
A: A second photographer is especially valuable for larger weddings, celebrations with more than 100 guests, multiple locations, or moments happening simultaneously. Some collections include a second photographer, and one may also be added when appropriate. I’ll help you decide whether your wedding would benefit from additional coverage.
Q: Do you photograph intimate weddings and elopements?
A: Yes. I photograph celebrations of every size, from intimate ceremonies to grand weddings. Each receives the same thoughtful attention, care, and dedication. Custom coverage is available based on the location, timeline, and scale of your celebration.
Q: Do you travel for weddings?
A: Yes. I photograph weddings throughout Virginia, Washington, D.C., and Maryland, and I’m available for destination celebrations. Travel within Virginia is included. Any applicable destination travel arrangements will be discussed clearly before booking.
Q: What happens if it rains?
A: Rain does not have to take away from beautiful photographs. I’ll monitor the forecast, look for covered or indoor portrait locations, and adjust the timeline when possible. If you’re open to stepping outside, even a few minutes between showers can create incredibly romantic images.
Q: When will we receive our photographs?
A: You’ll receive a selection of sneak peeks within three days of your wedding. Your complete gallery will be delivered within three to four weeks, allowing me time to carefully select and edit the images that best tell the story of your celebration.
Q: How will our photographs be delivered?
A: Your final images will be delivered through a private online gallery, where you can view, download, and share your photographs with family and friends. Your gallery will include high-resolution, professionally edited images in my signature style.
Q: Do you deliver RAW or unedited files?
A: RAW files are not included. The editing process is an essential part of my artistic work, and every delivered image is carefully selected and professionally edited to reflect the style you see throughout my portfolio.
Q: What happens if our wedding date changes?
A: Please contact me as soon as possible if your plans change. I’ll make every effort to accommodate your new date based on availability. Rescheduling, cancellation, and retainer terms are outlined clearly in your photography agreement.
If you have any other questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I’d be happy to help!
